Ukrainian producer and composer Nastya Vogan has released the track Skarb, created as part of a project of the same name that explores the origins of Ukrainian identity through history lessons. The composition is accompanied by a video work featuring iconic archaeological artifacts found on the territory of Ukraine, dating from the Paleolithic era to the Cossack period.
About the track Skarb is described as an example of “how electronic music can engage with history—not through reconstruction, but through sensation.” The description notes that in the track, Nastya Vogan “sets the rhythm for perceiving history as movement—uneven and continuous.”
“Music functions as a medium, an additional layer of perception, where time is felt through rhythm, density, ornamentality, and mood—simultaneously thoughtful and focused, restrainedly sentimental yet forward-looking.”
Nastya Vogan also creates music and sound design for the interactive lessons of the Skarb project. The track presented today serves as the main soundtrack for the entire initiative.
“When Hrystia Hranovska, the initiator of the project, offered me to join Skarb, I immediately said yes internally. It wasn’t just a request for music as background illustration—it was more of an invitation to feel the flow of history and find its dynamic sound,” the composer shares. “The idea itself resonated deeply with me: not to explain the past, but to give it space to be heard. The track appeared first, and only later came the realization that this music required a visual continuation.”
