For the first time, the War Diaries project held a workshop at St. Mary’s School, the largest and oldest Ukrainian school in the United Kingdom. Nearly 70 children aged 8 to 16 participated in a creative session based on a unique art therapy method. It helped the children process their emotions and strengthen their inner resilience.
Psychologists and art therapists Mariia Proshkowska and Khrystyna Ivaniuk ensured that the experience was safe and therapeutic.
As the project team notes: “We are not just transforming the burden of forced displacement into a Suitcase of Freedom—we are making this experience truly healing for the children.”
