13 war stories through children’s eyes
Through texts, videos, audio, diaries and personal items, the exhibition creates a space where visitors don’t just observe, but live through these stories together with the children.
The War Diaries tell the story of war through personal experience. They show the face of loss, and each story becomes a powerful emotional experience.
The project has already been presented at leading cultural and political institutions across Europe and The United States of America (USA) including the Anne Frank House, Amsterdam City Hall, Palace of Europe, Rotes Rathaus, the Ukrainian Institute of America, Rayburn House Office Building (RHOB), as well as the Hofburg Palace and Chatham House in London, UK.
At the National Military Museum, the exhibition was seen by over 300,000 visitors in 2025 as part of the museum’s permanent display.
“War Diaries” has become a space for dialogue at the highest level.
Excerpts from children’s diaries have been heard at the United Nations, read by ambassadors of The United States of America (USA), the Netherlands, Norway, Germany and other countries, as well as by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The project is implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and international partners.
This is a project about children’s voices the world cannot — and must not — ignore.
